Update February 12 2022: The Norwegian government decided to remove all restrictions in Norway in relation to Covid-19, this means that 1 meter distance and face covering is not longer mandatory.

Britannia Hotel took the following steps and measures to prevent the spread of covid 19 up until restrictions were lifted on February 12 2022.

  • Britannia Hotel along with its restaurants bars, plus the spa and conference space, reopened Friday 14th January.
  • Face covering is mandatory where you can not keep a distance of at least one metre.
  • Britannia's training facilities are open for a limited number of people at any one time, ensuring that there is a minimum of two metres between guests, all of whom are obliged to disinfect equipment after use.
  • Our restaurants will have reduced capacity and one mere distance between tables. We also ask our guests to contact us to let us know which of the party are in the same family or cohort, so that we can ensure a safedistance between each guest at the table.
  • We request that guest are punctual with their booking so that we avoid queues and mingling (please refrain from turning up too early to your booking).
  • We have antibacterial gel dispensers located in all guest areas, available to all guests, staff and back-office staff, to ensure maximum internal hygiene control.
  • We have increased the frequency of our cleaning schedule, with extra, regular cleaning of all areas which come in to contact with hands or bodies: including common contact surfaces such as door handles and table tops.
  • Our kitchens and dining facilities all take precautions when it comes to food preparation and food safety. Our restaurants have reduced capacity to allow for greater space between diners.
  • The hotel and all its concepts will be cash-free during this period. Bank terminals are disinfected after each use.
  • Our kitchens and restaurants will also be taking all requisite precautions when it comes to food preparationand food safety.
  • We have diversified our breakfast offering, allowing complimentary room service to ensure there are fewer crowds in the hotel. Our breakfast stations (where are chefs prepare and serve breakfast items à la minute) have also been moved to the conference lobby, to create more space during service.
  • We request all our spa guests to keep a one metre distance to other guests who are not in their family or cohort. Showering and changing into bathrobe, swimwear and slippers should be carried out in the hotel room (for resident guests).
  • We request all guests and travellers to the hotel to stay at home if they feel unwell or have experienced respiratory symptoms. We are happy to rebook your reservation so that we can welcome you at another time.
  • There is an offer to all employees to receive the flu vaccine, to avoid mixing the symptoms. If anyone is feeling sick they have to stay at home and are not allowed to work.
  • In the future, if we have guests displaying symptoms, we will accommodate them in rooms that are kept in a secluded wing, which is for quarantine use only.
