Update: Britannia Hotel and all its restaurants and bars, and the spa, will be re-opening on Friday 16th April at 12 midday. See here for more details.

Britannia Hotel adheres to the latest advice and recommendations from the Norwegian health authority at all times. Our policy is to prioritise guest and employee safety and the following measures are therefore subject to change, according to daily developments.

  • Britannia Hotel - along with its bars, spa and conference facilities - is now open and fully operational, following the national protocol and local guidelines for infectious control.
  • Until further notice, alcohol can be served (with food) in all our restaurants and bars until 10pm, and tables must be cleared by 10.30pm (following temporary national restrictions brought into force on 16th April, 2021).
  • Britannia's training facilities are open for a limited number of people at any one time, ensuring that there is a minimum of 2 metres between guests, all of whom are obliged to disinfect equipment after use.
  • In Trondheim it is obligatory to use a face-mask in public places where it is not possible to ensure a safe distance of one metre at all times (including shops, malls, restaurants, religious centres etc.). Guests at the hotel must therefore use masks while moving about the common areas of the hotel. Masks can be removed while seated to eat and drink. The rule does not apply to this born in 2008 or later, nor those who have a medical reason to be unable to wear a mask.
  • Britannia's employees are exempt from wearing masks in serving areas where they can maintain a safe distance.
  • Guests must pre-book hotel reservation, restaurant and bar reservations, spa treatments and meetings, or have purchased a gift for collection, in or order to enter the hotel during this period. Please be punctual with your bookings and help us avoid unnecessary queues and mingling.
  • We have antibacterial gel dispensers located in all guest areas, available to all guests, staff and back-office staff, to ensure maximum internal hygiene control.
  • We have increased the frequency of our cleaning schedule, with extra, regular cleaning of all areas which come in to contact with hands or bodies: including common contact surfaces such as door handles and table tops.
  • Our kitchens and dining facilities all take precautions when it comes to food preparation and food safety. Our restaurants have reduced capacity to allow for greater space between diners.
  • We have diversified our breakfast offering, including serving in the Brasserie and complimentary room service at the weekend, to ensure there are fewer crowds at peak times.
  • We request all guests and travellers to the hotel to stay at home if they feel unwell or have experienced respiratory symptoms. We are happy to rebook your reservation so that we can welcome you at another time.
  • All guests are asked to use hand-sanitiser before entering the restaurants.
  • Tables are disinfected after each use, before new customers use them.
  • Salt and pepper dispensers are disinfected after each table/group is finished, before the next guest arrives.
  • Bank terminals are disinfected after each use.
  • The hotel, the spa and the restaurants are cash-free during this period.
  • There is an offer to all employees to receive the flu vaccine, to avoid mixing the symptoms. If anyone is feeling sick they have to stay at home and are not allowed to work.
  • In the future, if we have guests displaying symptoms, we will accommodate them in rooms that are kept in a secluded wing, which is for quarantine use only.
  • In collaboration with our company health service, we can provide on-site testing with answers within 1-2 days.
