This November, Britannia welcomes Quintin Vidal, export manager in Scandinavia for wine producer François Lurton, to host a special five course Winemaker’s dinner in Jonathan Grill.
François is a well-known name in the wine world, not least thanks to his success with the white wine grape Sauvignon Blanc. He is also the son of André Lurton, veritible wine royalty; owner of Château Bonnet and active in establishing the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation, which has improved the availability of affordable Bordeaux whites.
Working alongside his brother Jacques, Francois has been active a ‘flying winemaker’, taking his craft and experience to far-flung corners of the world, where he has developed numerous vinyards. In 1992 they went to Argentina, where he pioneered viticulture in the arid Uco Valley in Mendoza. He now had wineries in France, Spain, Chile and Argentina, under the banner François Lurton.
We anticipate a wonderful evening in deep conversation with a man who has travelled the world. There will be a specially curated five course meal, paired to perfection with a selection of François’ wines.
