Michelin Key, Michelin Star and International Recognition
The 99 points awarded in the Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026 are the latest in a series of international accolades that the Britannia Hotel has received in recent years.
Britannia Hotel has been awarded a Michelin Key, the Michelin Guide’s accolade for outstanding hotel experiences, and has been ranked amongst Northern Europe’s best hotels by Condé Nast Traveller. Britannia is also home to Speilsalen, the hotel’s signature gastronomic restaurant, which holds one star in the Michelin Guide.
The accolades vary, but all point to the same ambition: to create a hotel experience in Trondheim that can rival some of the world’s leading hotels.
– We are proud to see that our long-term commitment to quality, hospitality and dining experiences is being recognised internationally. At the same time, the most important recognition is still that which we receive from our guests every single day. This award inspires us to continue to develop further,” says Sjødin.
With 99 out of 100 points in the Falstaff Hotel Guide Nordics 2026, Britannia Hotel has cemented its position amongst the Nordic region’s finest hotel experiences. This recognition also serves as an inspiration to continue our work in developing and refining the experience for the hotel’s guests.
After more than 150 years, our ambition remains the same: to create memorable experiences and give our guests a reason to return to Britannia and Trondheim.
