Welcome to Trondheims New Cultural Quarter

A new era is dawning for Trondheim. Just across the street from Britannia, the New Hjorten Theatre and PoMo opened in January and February 2025. Together, they are creating a vibrant cultural quarter that will fill the city with experiences.

A new era for the performing arts in Trondheim. The magical opening performance, Peter Pan – Stargate to Neverland, thrilled the audience with an unforgettable opening night. The theatre will continue to offer a varied programme of performances, concerts and cultural events, right in the heart of the city.

In February 2025, an inclusive and accessible museum of modern and contemporary art opened. PoMo has opened its doors in the historic Postgården, which is situated opposite the Britannia Hotel.

The museum will showcase world-class art, and you are very welcome, even if you have never visited an art museum before. This will be a meeting place for people, art and inspiration – with high ambitions and a strong desire to inspire lasting enthusiasm
