Britannia is proud to announce a special winemaker’s masterclass with Schloss Vollrad’s Christine Müller, who will be hosting two special tastings in Vinbaren on 21 May. 

Schloss Vollrads is one of the oldest wineries in Germany, built around a castle situated above the Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau. Documents show that the castle has been selling wine to the nearby monastery of Mainz since 1211. Schloss Vollrads specialises in Riesling, possessing 80 acres of vineyards dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of Riesling vines. The winemakers produces 10 to 15 different wines annually.

The producer delivers versatile and high-quality, terroir-driven Riesling. The wines have good fruit quality, great typicity. mineral tones, nice level of freshness and a purity of expression. Schloss Vollrads er en av Tysklands eldste vinprodusenter med historie helt tilbake til middelalderen. Dokumenter viser at slottet solgte viner til klosteret i Mainz allerede i 1211. De har spesialisert seg på riesling, besitter 80 hektar med vinmarker utelukkende bestående av riesling-vinplanter, og lager årlig 10 til 15 forskjellige viner.

Produsenten leverer allsidig og terroirdrevet riesling av høyeste kvalitet, fra flott beliggende vinmarker over byen Winkel, i vinregionen Rheingau. Rieslingvinene herfra har god fruktkvalitet, typiske flotte mineralske toner, høy friskhet og en renhet i utrykket.
