Welcome to Opera and Afternoon Tea, 29th February in Palmehaven.
In collaboration with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera, we are pleased to invite you to an Afternoon Tea experience of the rarest kind.
The performance of "Brüderlein und Schwesterlein" by siblings Maria and Aleksander Nohr and the pianist Eva Holm Foosnæs.
It will be both a familiar and classic experience when Maria and Aleksander Nohr deliver this cheerful performance in Palmehaven. The musical programme includes: operetta numbers by Strauss the younger, Lehàr and Kálmán, as well as arias and duets by Rossini and Mozart, some with their own translations into Norwegian.
Maria and Aleksander have for a number of years entertained together and built a repertoire that fits well with a lunch setting. They are especially looking forward to performing in Britannia with its unique atmosphere. Their repertoire ranges from humorous to tender and beautiful, and to accompany it all they have Eva Holm Foosnæs on piano.
Seating is at 1:30pm and the concert begins at 2pm.
Price per person NOK 650, including Afternoon Tea and Opera performance.
For several years, Aleksander Nohr has impressed audience and critics alike, with his warm and embracing baritone and presence on the opera stage. He is a graduate of NTNU under the tutelage of Prof. Kåre Bjørkøy, the Royal Danish Music Conservatory and the Opera Academy under the tutelage of Prof. Kirsten Buhl Møller. He debuted at the Royal Theater as Dancairo in Carmen, and has since carried many roles at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet, including Dandini in La Cenerentola, Schaunard in La Bohème, Masetto in Don Giovanni and Lt. Redburn in Billy Budd. He has performed in guest companies such as Opera Hedeland, Opera Østfold, The Jutland Opera, Malmö Opera, Arctic Opera and The Opera in Kristiansund.
Maria Nohr is a mezzo-soprano from Kjerringøy outside Bodø. She has sung works such as "Stabat mater" by Pergolesi, Saint-Saen's "Oratorio de Noël" and Handel's "Messiah". She has participated in several productions at the Kristiansund opera and in 2013 she played Lucie in "Olav Engelbregtsson". In the winter of 2015, she performed the role of Olga in Eugene Onegin with NOSO and TSO, later resumed at the Opera in Kristiansund in 2016. In the fall of 2017, she starred Maria von Trapp in "Sound of music" at Hålogaland theater. The 2020 season will be se her perform in TSO's rendition of Valkyria.
