Afternoon Tea

Celebrate Afternoon Tea in Trondheim every Saturday in the historic Palmehaven. Tiered cake stands laden with finger sandwiches, scones, sweets, pastries and cakes, served alongside a wide range of signature teas. This Afternoon Tea experience in Trondheim is a unique concept you would want to try out!

Price per person 695,-. We also offer a specially-made children's version (up to 12 years old) for 395,-. The price includes our exclusive teas, or coffee for those who would prefer. For children who do not want tea, we offer our homemade hot chocolate in replacement. Booking is available 3 months in advance.

The menu is seasonally inspired and changes throughout the year. Head Pastry Chef, Cathrine Nilsen, a member of the Norwegian National Pastry and Confectioner Team, who has worked in several Leading Hotels of the World, will serve guests with her finest delicacies.

Our own selected tea, India Darjeeling First Flush, has been chosen in collaboration with Scientea. A delicate and floral black tea with aromas of exotic flowers, fresh fruit, and gentle, sweet notes. This tea is exclusively available at Britannia Hotel as part of Afternoon Tea in Palmehaven.

With deep respect for tradition, culture, and craftsmanship, Scientea conveys the rich history of tea from leaf to cup. Working directly with small-scale tea farmers and producers around the world, Scientea ensures unique flavour experiences, authentic origin, and fair trade. Their aim is to offer an exceptional selection of teas, where each cup tells a story of cultivation, people, and place.

Britannia Afternoon Teas are made in local collaboration with Norway´s Master Tea Blender, Hanne Charlotte Heggberget at the Gravraak Teatliér in Nedre Bakklandet 58, Trondheim. Whole leaf tea of Camelia Sinensis blended with local herbs are made specially for Britannia. The tea brewers are trained by the Master Tea Blender herself to give you the same high quality tea experience each time you attend the Afternoon Tea in Palmehaven.

Britannia Hotel is also proud to announce a partnership with Twinings, the London tea blenders with a Royal Warrant to provide tea to the British Monarchs. And if Earl Grey is not quite your cup of tea, choose from our range of fabulous coffees or a flute of something more indulgent.
